While recently buying a vintage kimono from a Japanese online boutique I received my favorite compliment ever from the boutique staff.

“We really love your designs!! Very charming! And your illustrations have HEART, which attracts people. Please keep up working and bringing joy and happy feelings to people!!” And that is exactly what I hope my art will accomplish. My mission is to bring colorful, fun and beautiful art to the market that makes one feel positive, inspired and creative.

Ever since I can remember, I have never gone anywhere without my sketchbook and bucket of markers. I grew up in Canada, Switzerland, Belgium and Germany and my travel bug has since taken me to Asia and Africa. I started buying Paris Vogue when I was 15 and wanted to become a fashion designer until I discovered that I was failing sewing at Ryerson University in Toronto and quickly switched to Visual Communication.

After working as a graphic designer, doing marketing for a safari company and designing fashion doll clothes for a toy company, I stumbled upon illustration by accident. A friend in the industry loved my little drawings in a letter and encouraged me to put together a portfolio. I discovered my dream career and have developed a style of my own that has been described as “stylish linework and a brilliant color palette combine to create clean graphic imagery with an exotic twist.”

I find my inspiration in vibrant colors, textiles, decorative art, nature, ornamentation, my travels and from my extensive library and ribbons and trinkets collection. I have worked with some great clients including La Perla, Delta Airlines, Klutz Publishing, Running Press, R andom House, Food Illustrated (UK), Coca Cola, L.A. Times, Aussie Haircare, Virgin, Natural Health, Cosmo Girl and have been honored by Communication Arts Magazine and American Illustration. My art can be seen on greeting cards for Jenny Wren Paperie, on gift wrap for Furochic and on journals for Vigo.

I live by the beach in Victoria, a little gem on Vancouver Island. I balance my creative endeavors with my busy family life with husband Scott and two children, Ava and Oliver.
